2012 Mason County Affiliate of the Year

Peggy Zamzow has been part of the Peninsula Credit Union family since 1981 where she has focused most of her career on mortgage lending. She became active with the Mason County Association of Realtors in 1996 and was affiliate of the year in 1997 and 2000. She was the Chairperson of the Realtor Political Action Committee in 1999 and 2000. Peggy also served on the MCAR Board from 1997 to 2010 as Secretary and a local director. She has been back on the Board since 2011 as well as serving as the Scholarship Committee Chair since 2001.

Peggy Zamzow, was awarded “Affiliate of the Year” at the annual Mason County Association of Realtors gala on November 30th. The award was voted on by the Association’s membership and focuses on the quality of work Peggy provides for those she works within the world of mortgages and real estate. Peggy was also installed into the Board of Directors for a third term as the Secretary at the event.

Peggy has also been recognized for her work in the development of the Ridge Motorsports Park by the Economic Development Council in 2011.

2012 Mason County Realtor of the Year

Kristy Buck, 2012 REALTOR of the Year for the Mason County Association of REALTORS

Kristy Buck was recently honored at the Mason County Association of REALTORS (MCAR) installation event on November 30th, 2012 as the REALTOR of the Year for 2012. Kristy is a full-time REALTOR and co-owner of the local John L. Scott office, yet found the time to chair the MCAR Quality of Life committee (also known as Government Affairs) which put on a Housing Issues Briefing for local politicians, County/City planning staff and business owners. This committee also organized candidate interviews for all local elected offices this election cycle. Kristy also serves as the New Member Orientation chair, welcoming in the newest members of the Association with important information about the Code of Ethics for the REALTOR association.

Kristy is a life-long resident of Mason County, and has been a REALTOR for almost ten years. She was President of MCAR in 2006, and received the REALTOR of the Year honor that same year as well. She has served on the Board of Directors for MCAR almost her entire career in real estate, and has served at the State Association of REALTORS level as a 3-year Local Director, and on the State Government Affairs committee. She lives in Shelton with her husband of 23 years, Jim, and their three yellow labs.

Installation of the 2013 Mason County Association of REALTORS

Invitations were given out this week to the installation of the 2013 Mason County Association of REALTORS. The date is November 30th, starting at 6 pm, The cost is only $30 and will include a dinner buffet and the installation.
This years Theme is BLACK & WHITE BALL. Tickets can be purchased from Alisha Harrison @ John L Scott in Belfair or Alicia Dalseg @ RE/MAX Top Executives in Shelton.
REALTOR & Affiliate of the year nominations are due so send them to Alicia Dalseg or Melaine Bakala @ State Farm Insurance in Shelton.

Nominations for the 2013 Board of Directors for the Mason County Association are open and we would like to encourage all members to consider serving a term on the Board of Directors. Don’t be shy you can even nominate yourself.
The September general membership meeting is the election meeting and nominations will be closed at the start of that meeting.
Instructions of voting will be sent out and all ballots that don’t follow the rules will not be counted.

2012 Annual Picnic

Next month our general membership meeting is our annual picnic.

NEW LOCATION this year. We will be holding the picnic at Bayshore Golf on Hwy 3.

The Date is Friday August 17th and the cost is only $10.00 plus tax so figure $11.
The meeting and lunch will begin at 12:30pm You can add a fun 9 holes of golf starting at 1:30pm for only $15.

Code of Ethics Training

This is the 4th year in the cycle of 4 year mandatory COE training.
So all members of the Association of REALTORS® are required to have this training.

Here are several ways that you can complete your COE training
You can go on line at Realtor.org and click on COE training, the online course is free of charge. you will need your nrds number to sign in.

You can go to the Washington Realtors ® and look on the education tab and take the course.

Washington Realtors ® is offering a webinar training. On June 27th from 4-7pm Washington Realtors ® will be offering a live webinar being taped here in Mason County at the RE/Max office. There are several ways you can log on to this training.

You can call the RE/MAX office and find out if they have any spaces left available for live audience.
Your office can log on and as a group you can watch the webinar, you will need someone to act as the monitor. you will need to decide if you want clock hours and pay at the time of the webinar.
You can log on in your home and watch the webinar.

The training is free but if you want the clock hours there is a $39 cost.
